“Fish Fight” is the environmental campaign to force the EU to ban discards in fishing.
To present the campaign in Spain and make it famous under the name we created, Niunpezporlaborda.org, Up & Coming launched a pop-up tapas bar with 4 Michelin stars at the world famous Mercado de San Miguel, in Madrid city centre, on the 23rd May 2012.
Our invited hosts were weather forecast presenter Mario Picazo and five top Spanish chefs: Paco Roncero, Mario Sandoval, Darío Barrio, Joaquín Felipe and Ángel León.
They actively encouraged Spaniards to sign up on the Fish Fight website to ban discards in fisheries.
Some of the results were:
- Over 30 key media at the launch, including foreing media and 3 National TV channels.
- 103 media reports and 151 clips on blogs and non-media sites.
- Coverage secured included mainstream TV channels RTVE, Tele 5, and Cuatro and Radio clips at Cadena Ser and Radio Nacional ensuring that we were talking directly to our target market.
